Our alliance of local organizations is still working hard on our #ridingtowardchange initiative which aims to keep riders safe on local trails, while ensuring communities and private properties are maintained and respected. Through a generous $100,000 grant from the Polaris Foundation, we will work to install 1,000 new ATV trail signs throughout the Ride the Wilds system by the end of the 2019 ATV season.

#Ridingtowardchange focuses not only on providing education and riding best practices, it also provides directional guidance throughout the trail system with the hope to improve the ATV experience for riders and community members alike.

“The success of the trail system has stimulated a tremendous influx of visitors to our communities. We are encouraged by the support from our communities and are committed to fostering the sport by remaining diligent in responding to the desires of our neighbors and visitors,” said Corrine Rober, owner of Polaris Adventures Certified Outfitter, Bear Rock Adventures and marketing chair for North Country Chamber of Commerce. “Working with local clubs has been a great opportunity to address community-wide interests and this alliance has certainly risen to the occasion.”

Organizations included in the alliance are Bear Rock Adventures, Great Northwoods Riders ATV Club, Metallak ATV Club, Millsfield ATV Club, The North Country Chamber of Commerce and Umbagog ATV Club. Aiming to relieve common concerns by focusing on proper riding etiquette, the new signage will be an asset for everyone to enjoy the beautiful trails throughout Coos County.

With more than 2,000 members collectively, these local clubs have joined forces to work toward a shared goal to alleviate improper ATV trail use and identify a better way to manage high traffic areas. In recent years, this alliance has invested $1.3 million to maintain North Country’s interconnected trails.

Our official press release can be found here.

We hope you will join us in #ridingtowardchange.
