Relocation

Greetings from the North Country!

Thank you for your interest in relocating to the Great North Woods!  If you can't find what you are looking for on our website, we'd be happy to mail you some area information to help you get acquainted with the region.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

The North Country is a place of natural beauty with rural landscapes, diverse wildlife and bountiful opportunities for outdoor recreation.  We have four distinct seasons—Springs are cool and muddy, Summers stay pleasantly warm and bring occasional rain, Fall creates a stunning scene of colorful foliage and Winter forms a snowy landscape for all to enjoy.

The major economic engine here is tourism, paired with agriculture, forest industries and a multitude of small business owners and public service workers. The result: communities built from steadfast people who have worked the land and used the natural setting to their advantage, always honoring the rural life. We hope you join this workforce and help us build upon the northern communities in the process.

Indian Stream Health Center and Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital serve the healthcare needs for the region, as well as private medical offices.  Schools are housed in the area’s larger towns and regional consolidation is on the public’s mind as costs per pupil increase.  Churches can be found in most towns, as well.

The North Country Chamber of Commerce represents northern Vermont and New Hampshire, including but not limited to the towns of Averill, Beecher Falls, Bloomfield, Canaan, Clarksville, Colebrook, Columbia, Dixville Notch, Errol, Island Pond, Lemington, Norton, Pittsburg, Stewartstown, Stratford and North Stratford.  We hope you find a community that suits you here.  Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions!
